Kukay’s recent short film When I Wallowed In A Bowl of Sunshine (2021) was selected for the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and the Pelikulaya International LGBTQIA+ Film Festival where it won Best Short Film. It has also been included in CNN Philippines’ Best Filipino Films of 2022 (Rediscoveries section).

Kukay Zinampan is a queer writer, film, and theatre collaborator living in Rizal. Much of their cadence in creating is derived from trans/queer histories, witchcraft and caring systems, and anarcho-queer projects of being and world-making.
