Marriage, especially between LGBT+ persons, is a means of securing one’s place in another country but can lead to inequalities and power conflicts. This film is about spatial territories, gastronomic practices, personal memories, camouflaged identities, and political resistance.
Sarnt Utamachote (he/they) is a queer filmmaker and curator. They co-founded the collective ‘un.thai.tled’ of Thai-German diasporic critical creatives, through which they curated exhibitions, film screenings and workshops. Their video installation I Am Not Your Mother and short film Soy Sauce screened in festivals internationally.
