ARIA 夢姬
Multiple origins, 2025

Directed by
Yushien Yang, Jin Keon
Running time
7 mins

Set in the year 2050, ARIA 夢姬 is a CGI animated speculative short film. In the smart surveillance city of Dream Harbor, a fourth-generation female AI agent named ARIA is on the verge of obsolescence. She is the product of a state-run “Cyber Road Initiative” designed to address labor shortages and declining birth rates. Modeled after a famous late actress, she is the image of “grace and restraint” and domestic femininity. The work references Donna Haraway’s “A Cyborg Manifesto” and ideas of a post-gender future.

Director Bio

Yushien is a filmmaker, CG artist, and lawyer whose work explores hyperreality, virtual humans, machine vision, and digital culture. With a legal background, she critically examines governance, identity, and the socio-legal dimensions of digital embodiment. Her research focuses on how machine vision influences perception, interpretation, and control—treating images in algorithmic, surveillance, and automated systems as operational tools rather than representations.

Jin Keon is an artist, director, fashion designer, and stylist whose practice spans moving image, fashion, visual design, and narrative experimentation. With over 17 years of cross-disciplinary experience, he has worked internationally in fashion and digital creative industries across roles such as art direction, styling, film direction, and brand content creation.
