From rural 19th-century northern Vietnam to modern-day Saigon, A Love Letter to Vietnam is a three-film series that showcases the plurality of queer Vietnamese lives across time. An opera singer falls for a ruthless debt collector, the wives of a wealthy man fall for each other. In the darkness of the shadows or in the limelight of the stage, queer possibilities take form even in the most restrictive circumstances.
A Love Letter to Vietnam: Queer Vietnamese Film Nights is a community cinema project by Queer East, working with our beloved community spaces across East London.
