Literary Works in Queer Hong Kong Indie Zines


Writing by anonymous contributors fill the pages of queer indie zines from 1990s Hong Kong, spanning fiction, interviews, and submissions from readers. In response to these works, poet Eric Yip will present a reading of his new poetry, followed by a conversation with writer Yin Lo on his creative process and the archive’s literary significance.

Artist Biography



Eric Yip is from Hong Kong. In 2021 he won the National Poetry Competition, and in 2025 he received an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors. His writing has appeared in Best New Poets, The Guardian, The Poetry Review, and Poets & Writers.

Yin, born and raised in Hong Kong, is a London-based novelist. Her writing journey has begun after finishing an MA in Gender Studies at UCL. Her first novella Yung Yung was selected in the Aesop Queer Library Hong Kong in 2022. It also won Q Literature 2024 by Q Power Taiwan. Her second novel Grafting was published in 2024, Taiwan.
