Queer East returns on 23 April for our sixth instalment, and we are seeking a team of enthusiastic volunteers to join us in delivering this year’s festival. Queer East volunteers will not only gain hands-on experience working in event organising, but they will also have access to festival events and join a vibrant community of like-minded queer arts and cinema fans who share a passion for queer East and Southeast Asian representation in the arts and cultural sector.
About Queer East
Queer East is a cross-disciplinary festival that showcases boundary-pushing LGBTQ+ cinema, live arts, and moving image work from East and Southeast Asia and its diaspora communities. Our sixth edition runs from 23 April – 18 May in venues across London, exploring notions of what it means to be queer and Asian today.
What you will do:
As a Queer East volunteer, your responsibilities might include front of house, venue set-up, exhibition assistance, hospitality, marketing, and photography.
What we provide:
- £10 per session to compensate for travel and food expenses.
- Complimentary tickets to festival screenings, performances, and events.
- Queer East goody bag
