ABOUT THE ROLE
Queer East is seeking an enthusiastic Festival Assistant to join our team to support preparations for the 2024 Festival and various year-round projects.
For this entry-level and part-time role, we are looking for people who are passionate about queer and East and Southeast Asian cinema and arts, and who want to gain hands-on experience in the producing and management of cultural events. As a Festival Assistant, you will support various aspects of festival delivery, with responsibilities including: assisting with admin tasks; researching film sources and licenses; creating marketing and social media content; collecting audience feedback; and ad-hoc tasks that may arise.
In this role, you will join a dynamic team, and be supported in learning more about the film exhibition sector and running mixed-arts festivals. The position is designed for emerging talent making their first step into the arts and cultural sector. We especially welcome applicants from diverse cultural backgrounds and communities who can contribute different perspectives to the team. Previous work experience or academic degrees in related subjects are not required for this role.
SALARY AND WORKING HOURS
£11.95 per hour based on the London Living Wage.
You are expected to work 10 hours per week, with a potential increase in April 2024 during the festival period. This role requires a mixture of remote working, office-based work (central London), and working on-site at different festival venues.
