It took one hundred queer years for Lola Perla to finally be recognized by a government that never really took notice of the likes of her. Receiving an envelope containing 100,000 Philippine Pesos, Lola confronts her long-standing personal covenant: to bail an ex-lover’s son out of jail.

Director Bio

Norvin de los Santos is a writer-director, multidisciplinary artist, and human rights activist from an informal community in Mandaluyong City. Their short films Father (2016), Lullaby of the Free (2019), and 101 Butterflies (2019) have won various awards at festivals. They are one of the resident artists of Para sa Sining and Barrio 99, both collectives of cultural collaborators and filmmakers.
