Taking Roland Barthes’ reflections on the indexical value of a photograph in La Chambre Claire as a starting point, Boudinet’s Curtain uses interviews with queer individuals whose stories are juxtaposed with their respective childhood photographs as a way to explore the silences and spectres of uncaptured subjectivities. It is part of the artist’s broader Queer Childhoods project.

Director Bio
Maya.nk is a genderqueer artist-researcher whose work experiments with notions of material, memory and time. Their practice spans photography, video, image-making as well as cultural and media studies, with a focus on queering the divisions and neatly packed boundaries between artistic, archival and research practice.
