Inspired by horror films and videos displayed on screens in shops, Cadence of a Prayer considers the abstraction of the queer, human, tropical body. Representations of flesh, body, and skin are coagulated into corporeal messes, as the body becomes ‘inhumanised’ through a combination of stretches, melts, and sweat.

Director Bio
Moses Tan (he/they) is an artist and curator from Singapore, interested in the intersections of queer theory, the decolonial turn, autotheory, and politics, while exploring ideas of melancholia, mythology, horror, and botany. In their work, they employ sculpture, drawing, found objects, and video in essayistic installations.
