Two women—one white, the other Asian—attempt to fit into a Japanese bathtub. The awkward fitting of bodies into a small space is one of many allegorical scenarios dramatised in a pressing appeal for lesbian rights.

Shu Lea Cheang is an artist and filmmaker who engages in genre bending and gender hacking art practices. Crafting her own genre of Sci-fi New Queer Cinema, she has made 4 feature length films, FRESH KILL(1994), I.K.U. (2000), FLUIDø (2017) and UKI (2023).
