This documentary explores questions of digital and virtual intimacy in contemporary gay communities. ‘Looking for?’ is one of the most commonly asked questions on gay dating apps, but it’s not one that’s easy to answer, at least for the director, Yen. Seeking to discover the different answers to this question, Yen interviews around sixty gay men from cities including Taipei, Beijing, New York and London. Some are looking for love, some are looking for lust – and for others, their search is far more complicated. As stories and personal histories are exchanged, Yen reflects on his own relationships, and invites the audience to consider what they themselves have been looking for.
