This karaoke-style video layers familial trauma with matrilineal storytelling, juxtaposing spoken and unspoken narratives passed between generations. The film’s format playfully parodies popular karaoke videos while addressing profound emotional and cultural resonances.

Director Bio

Sadia Pineda Hameed is a Filipina-Pakistani artist and writer whose work delves into intergenerational trauma through anticolonial strategies of dreaming, telepathic communion, and secrets. Using film, text, installation, and performance, she reimagines future tools for resistance and communication, blending mythmaking, melodrama, and personal archives.
